What are Dolphins?
Dolphins, like you and me, are mammals. They have teeth. They are warm-blooded and they have a four-chambered heart. Dolphins also have hair — but not very much! They nurse their babies too. A baby dolphin is called a calf. A mother dolphin will feed her baby dolphin for around 2 years. Dolphins belong to a group of mammals called cetaceans. Cetaceans include all whales and dolphins. |
